The push was so heavy that it knocked me on the ground: spun my head and shook my entire body. "Do it again I dare !" He spit those words on my face.. and I laid on the ground in agony thinking how to tackle the situation...
Sunday, 7th Spetember, my first soccer game was in action and I was way too excited for it, not nervous though. I performed well in the practices but still this was my first official soccer game. As the car strolled down the street, towards the destination my legs started trembling: my heart got this weird feeling and my breath started to get heavier with each moment passing. Now I didn't want to play, I don't know why but the confident just leaked out of me.
After fifteen minutes of drive we reached our destination, I unloaded my soccer kit and went straight to coach. Other team members greeted me, my coach was setting up the game plan, he placed the team members on to the field but I, with other kid named Paul wasn't placed.
After quarter of the game passed I was sent in the to take on the mid field position and as I entered the field, I felt blood running fast in my veins, every nerve in my body forced me to perform well. I had to prove something, I had to prove I was a good soccer player and was worthwhile to be in the team. I started off well. After a couple of minutes I got face to face with this kid, I snatched the ball and in the process he fell down... Oops . I apologized. The next time we came head on head, he pushed me hard and knocked me on the ground.. and as he passed me he said " Do that again, I dare" and I was like What the heck..! First the angered flowed inside me but I forced a smile on my faced and answered " Its just a game man ! Come on ", "I aint no playing fellow game here" came the reply; "Do whatever you feel like, its just a game and we are friends" I answered patting him on the shoulder. He stared back, looked me in the eye, made weird face and then smiled. He gave a pat on my shoulder and said "Sorry man, My bad ,,,", I was seriously surprised by his reaction.. I wasn't expecting that wohoo where did that come from.. But it sure felt good, good from inside that you have accomplished something....
